Harvest Your Team's Snippets
If you're a developer, the word "snippet" is already a part of your vocabulary.
Snippet Garden is a team-based snippet repository. Each Snippet Garden site is secured
and requires a user account to enter. It provides a single location for all the
developers working within an organization to share their code as well as their knowledge
and experience.
Snippets aren't just snippets
Today's developers utilize various languages and frameworks, and commonly integrate
with online services and 3rd party components. Snippet Garden gives you
several ways to post and link these items into a single comprehensive message.
Communication is the key
Snippet Garden isn't just a place to park code. We've added some features like the
wish list, comments and voting
to help organize the items your developers need the most and keep user postings
up to date.
Not just about code reuse
Code reuse is always a goal and a challenge for developers, but Snippet Garden isn't
just for code reuse. Developers learn by example. What many developers
don't realize is that snippets are far more valuable to communicate and mentor others
on proper techniques, patterns, and practices.
Template Projects
The file upload feature of Snippet Garden allows you to create and zip template
projects that can help other team members get started on projects. An example might
include a template project, complete with configuation files and external libraries
that is already setup for your preferred platform.

Tagging and Search
Add tags to describe projects where a snippet was used, how the snippet was discovered,
technologies or frameworks required - whatever. Using the
tag browser within Snippet Garden helps when you don't know exactly what
you're looking for. Tags (and pretty much everything else you post) are also searchable
via the snippet keyword search.
Online Feedback
For larger teams, users can also submit comments and
votes on snippets that are (or are not) particularly helpful. By supplying
good feedback on your own experiences with a snippet, you help the next team member
get their job done faster.
User Management
Once you have a Snippet Garden site of your very own, you can add and remove users
in seconds - it's extremely easy to maintain user accounts. We're big supporters
of open technologies, and you'll see that we allow you to use your OpenID to sign
in. Administrators can add, activate and deactivate
users - edit anything, and change your license enrollment at any time.
